The cleanest line in the range. Fabric, opacity and cassette specified to disappear into the architecture.
Most windows have two jobs and one shade cannot do both. During the day you want the glare gone and the view kept. At night you want the room dark and nobody able to see in. A single fabric forces a compromise between those, and the compromise is usually wrong twice a day.
Double roller blinds solve it by putting two shades on one bracket. A solar or sheer fabric sits on the front roller for daytime use, cutting ultraviolet light and glare while leaving the outlook intact. A blackout fabric sits behind it, drawn down independently in the evening for complete privacy and full room darkening.
Both operate separately, so a single bracket can be set to any combination through the day: sheer alone, blackout alone, or both together for the deepest darkness in a bedroom. The two rollers share one headbox, which means the finished installation reads as a single treatment rather than two shades competing for the same reveal.
Where the specification really earns itself is a west-facing room. The solar layer handles a low afternoon sun, then the blackout layer closes the room down completely once it becomes a bedroom or a screening room after dark.

Banded roller shades take a different approach to the same problem. Instead of two separate fabrics, a single panel alternates horizontal stripes of sheer and opaque material. Roll it slightly and the bands align to open the sheer sections, letting filtered daylight through. Roll it further and the opaque bands overlap, closing the room down completely.
The effect is a continuous adjustment rather than an on-or-off decision, and the shade never leaves the window to achieve it. For a contemporary interior this reads considerably more refined than traditional pull down fabric blinds, which offer a single opacity and one plane of movement.
The format also does something visually that few other treatments manage. The stripe pattern gives a large window a horizontal rhythm that suits modern architecture, and because the bands are part of the fabric rather than a mechanism, the shade still stacks into a slim cassette when fully raised.
Roller shade fabric is almost impossible to judge from a screen. Openness factor, weave and colour all behave differently under South Florida light, and a fabric that looks crisp white in a catalogue can read grey once it is up against your walls.
A designer brings the full fabric library to your home. Samples are held against the glass at the window they are intended for, so you can see exactly how much of the view survives at each opacity and how the colour shifts through the afternoon. Where a double system makes sense we specify both fabrics together rather than choosing one and revisiting the other later.
Roller shades are also the easiest treatment in the range to motorize, and the consultation is the right moment to decide whether to. Retrofitting a motor later is possible but rarely as clean as specifying it from the start.
Yes. Custom roller shades are highly effective at managing South Florida’s heat and sunlight. By selecting specialized UV-blocking or light-filtering fabrics, you can dramatically reduce solar heat gain and protect your interiors.
A double roller blind system features two distinct shade fabrics mounted on a single bracket. Typically, this pairs a translucent solar shade for daytime visibility with a solid blackout shade for complete nighttime privacy.
Banded roller shades feature alternating stripes of sheer and opaque fabric. As you roll the shade up or down, the bands bypass each other, allowing you to instantly switch between soft, filtered light and total room-darkening privacy.
